If you can't be nice to your God given friend ...

you can't have ANY friends.
I said that today. and I meant it.
Scary thing to say. Really
Brothers seem to always be in competition.
They don't want to share but are forced. It's only right.
They are away from each other for a few hours and
they don't stop asking when their brother is coming home.
Then when Brother gets home he gets kicked?
I want my boys to love each other and
stick up for each other. That's what brothers are for.
I catch the love and it is the best parts of my day.

But mostly I grasp to keep them safe from one another.
I cannot help but think it is unacceptable
to hurt your brother or talk down to him.

But daily I remind them that they have to build each up.

The classic if you don't have anything nice to say,
don't say anything at all.

This is important to me, but seems so impossible.

I continue to add pictures to this post. Pictures that capture the moments that bless my heart and remind me that it is possible.

  1. Rented the movie Brothers. I watched it with Whisper. Just because not because of this post.
BUT wow. So many feeling there in that movie. So much I related to. The good brother picking up the black sheep brother from jail. His words " He's my brother" that is all that needed said to make any sacrifice.
The death. The reaction of the other not so good brother at first. Anger blaming the wife. Throwing his keys. Then his come back as a caring brother and helpful uncle.
Then the Good brother coming back and being emotionally scarred from being a hostage.unable to function , scaring his wife and kids. And Then the formerly bad brother rescuing the good brother gone bad. Left a lot to wonder but a thought provoking movie
